Welcome to the NERCHC, I hope the pages of this site provide all the information you need about owning, building and flying model helicopters. We are based in Washington Tyne and Wear and are the only BMFA affiliated club in the North East which is dedicated to rotary flight.

The club has been around since the early 1980's and our members have many years of experience flying, building and maintaining model helicopters.

Our club has witnessed the evolution of the model helicopter from the early petrol 35MHz models through to the more common 2.4GHz.electric flybarless models.

It is true that the model helicopter has evolved rapidly over the last 10 to 15 years and that evolution is continuing at a highly developed rate. That’s one of the many benefits that come with joining a club, you could spend a lot of money on a top of the range model but money can’t buy experience.

If you are thinking about flying model helicopters joining a club and speaking to people who have spent many years flying could save you a lot of time, effort and money when you’re learning to fly.

Should you have any questions about this site or model helicopters please feel free to get in touch. Whether you’re a beginner who is learning to fly, a seasoned veteran looking for a new club or just interested in finding out more about model helicopters. This is the site for you.

New members are always welcome, you can contact us via the "contact us" section of the web site, just leave you contact details and we will get in touch.
